Getting Help

There's nothing wrong with receiving help. Getting help is something that all of us do, and some of us do it on a regular basis. Like receiving help from teachers on a certain problem at school or from our peers, family and friends. Some of us have too much pride to ask for help sometimes, and I admit that I'm one of them. I personally don't ask for help often, and most of the time when I do, it's not implied. Although, recently I've been seeing help in a new light, my savior sort of. We can't do everything by ourselves, we need to trust others.

Raising your hand in class is tough for some of us. Some of us are shy and really just can't get our voices out. So we either ask our question after class or during class where nobody else is listening or watching. Getting help doesn't have to be during in class in front of everyone, you just have receive help. Asking a teacher a question about a problem that you don't understand is reassuring. Your teacher tries he's/her best to explain the process to you, and afterwards when he's/ she's done, you feel relieved that you asked. Put yourself out there. Asking for help is what makes us human, no one human can do everything alone, without help.

Asking for help from our family and friends is the easiest way to get help and it doesn't feel like losing your pride at all. I would say, lose that pride. Pride is nice of standing up for yourself, but if you don't trust others and let them help you, then there's not a point in having it in the first place. Most of us can talk to our family members about anything, since we known them for a long time. We sometimes know how they'll react before we even ask them. It's more reassuring that way. Friends are just a little bit tougher. Depending on how much you've been with them and how much you trust them, you don't exactly know how they will react. For example: I could ask one of my friends for help and he could joke around and say no, and I'll take it seriously.

My point is sometimes you shouldn't be so independent because there's nothing wrong with help. All of us ask for help at some stage in our lives and we'll probably continue asking for help from time to time. You can try to be alone and have no one else to help you, but you'll be taking the much harsher path. Getting help will shorten that path and make it a lot easier to walk on.
